Last March we held a pot luck supper which was such a success we have had multiple request to do it again! This pot luck supper will be the perfect opportunity to gather as a sewing community to celebrate the upcoming holiday season and share our sewing accomplishments! Arrive at 6p with a pot luck dish or dessert of your choosing. Dinner at 6:30p followed by a workshop activity making - no sew, folded nordic star ornaments. All supplies provided. No sewing machine required. Evening will close with show and tell! No fee is required for this event. There will however be a donation option to help offset the workshop supply expenses. Learn to make this scrappy block using six 2 1/2” strips and the tube method! SEW easy!! Unfinished block size is 12 1/2”. Once you know the method it would be a breeze to make a crib size quilt with a dozen of these blocks. We will also explore various block layouts. Let the sun shine in! This quilt pattern by Robin Pickens, is a perfect project for gift giving! The quilt can be made with a Charm Pack (5" squares) for the smaller size, (wall/Lap is 35 x 45") or with a Layer Cake (10" squares) for the larger size (twin is 69 x 90"). Quilt uses stitch and flip corners, flying geese and half square triangle blocks making it suitable for beginners! Participants will be required to download pattern from Etsy prior to class. There are so many ideas for variations to make birds with attitude and wings that sing. You can make birds with long or short beaks, pointy or blunt, bigger birds or smaller, fat or skinny, tall or short!
